Dr Kirkor is an Independent Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. He was a Clinical Lead for Pain Services at Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals NHS Trust from 2010 till 2019. He partly retired from his NHS job in April 2019, maintaining his private practice (see below) as well as the NHS locum job.
He qualified from Medical University in Gdansk, Poland in 1987. He completed his formal training in anaesthesia in 1994 and he held several consultant posts in Poland. He obtained his PhD in medicine in 1996. He moved to the UK in 2005 and joined Pain Clinic at Stoke Mandeville Hospital (National Spine Injury Centre). In September 2010 he moved to Telford, Shropshire.
Dr Kirkor’s special interest is interventional pain medicine, interventional medicine in MSK conditions, spine pain, whiplash injury, Whiplash-Associated Disorders and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
In 2018 Dr Kirkor set up the first Regenexx Clinic in the UK (currently the only Regenexx clinic in Europe) upon completion the extensive training in the Regenexx clinics in the USA. The clinic focuses on regenerative medicine (stem cells and platelet rich plasma) for musculoskeletal and spine conditions. He has lectured about regenerative orthopaedics on several national and international meeting and courses. He maintains his CPD by attending regularly regenerative medicine conferences and courses.
Dr Kirkor is a member of Spine Interventions Society (Research Mentoring Committee), North American Spine Society, American Academy / Board of Regenerative Medicine and Interventional Orthobiologic Foundation.
Dr Kirkor is an expert witness and his area of expertise is anaesthesia and chronic pain. He commenced his medico-legal practice in 2011. He is a member of the Expert Witness Institute (MEWI).
